시스템에서 요구하는 SAW필터의 중요한 특성은 몇 가지 변수로 설명된다. 시스템 설계시 SAW필터의 사양에 대한 세부 변수는 아래와 같은 지표를 고려하여 결정할 수 있다.
변수에 대한 지침값은 SAW기술을 이용하여 구현할 수 있는 성능의 한계를 설정하며 제품의 성능은 변수의 설정값에 따라 결정된다. 아래에 제시되는 지표는 ㈜EFT에서 통제할 수 있는 변수의 범위이며 기본 주문양식에 요구하는 값을 명시하여 제품개발을 의뢰할 수 있다.
 
 
  Narrowband filters - fractional bandwidth 0.1~4%
  Middle range filters fractional bandwidth 4~10%
  Wide band filters - 10~100%
  - Fractional bandwidth is determined as the ratio between 3-dB bandwidth and central frequency
 
  Low sharpness - more than 1.3
  Intermediate sharpness - less than 1.3 and more than 1.2
  High sharpness - less 1.2 and more than 1.1
  Extremely sharp filters - sharpness is less than 1.1
  - Sharpness is determined as ratio between 40 - dB bandwidth and 1-dB bandwidth
 
  Convention filters - IL>20dB
  Low loss filters - 8dB<IL<19dB
  Very low loss filters - IL<7dB
 
  Standard - 35 dB to -45 dB
  High attenuation - more than 50 dB

  The insertion loss in our RF filters is typically 1dB~3dB (The very low IL / below 1 dB)
 
 
 
 
The filter bandwidth usually is limited to 3%, maximum 5% of the center frequency (0.5GHz~2.5GHz)
We can design SAW filters for frequencies up to 5.4 GHz, using standard optical photolithography
(leaky longitudinal waves)
 
 
 
 
The rejection level and the steepness of the skirts of the performance curve may be different,
depending on application. Typical rejections would be of the order of 40dB to 50 dB, easier
achieved in Balanced-Unbalanced (BALUM) configuration.
